Two Fort Collins residents died during a homicide-suicide incident at 100 W. Fairway Lane on Sept. 30.
The coroner's office of Larimer County released the following information a week after the tragedy:
“The male individual was pronounced dead at the scene,” the statement reads. “The female individual was transported to the Medical Center of the Rockies and succumbed to her injury on October 1, 2025…The first decedent is identified as 20-year-old Marcus E. Jackson. The second decedent is identified as 18-year-old Alyssa Paige Reardon. Both of Fort Collins, Colorado.”
Jackson’s death was ruled a suicide while Reardon’s death was ruled a homicide.
Jackson was an airman stationed at Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne.
Both the Fort Collins and Wyoming communities have been caught off guard by this tragedy, with the commander of Jackson’s wing giving his condolences to his family, as reported by the Cheyenne newspaper the Wyoming Tribune-Eagle.
“This is a heartbreaking day for the 90th Missile Wing,” the statement reads. “Our deepest sympathies go out to the families and friends of those affected.”
The Tribune-Eagle story also mentioned the recent and alarming statistics of the 90th Missile Wing from this year.
“This is the third time this year that an airman from the 90th Missile Wing at F.E. Warren has died following a shooting incident.”
The Fort Collins Police Department has come out and stated that there is no looming threat, and “There is no indication of any ongoing threat to the public.”
An investigation is still ongoing and anyone with information about this case who has not already spoken to police is asked to call Detective Cole Giandomenico at (970) 221-6558.
