The Lincoln Center will welcome the public for a reception and panel discussion on Friday, Oct. 10, with artists who have contributed around Fort Collins. The event is a part of the city’s Art in Public Places initiative, which aims to beautify Fort Collins with projects that include painting pianos and transformer cabinets and adding sculpture to public spaces.
The panel will be with artists Gregory Fields, Todd Kindla, Allie Ogg and Stephan Shachtman; all of whom contributed public art installations to the city. They are also a part of the 6 artists currently featured in the Lincoln Center’s art gallery, which shows their personal artwork, giving insight into the artists' practice outside of their public work.
During the panel discussion, “Exploring Local Public Art & Personal Expression,” the artists will give insight into their creative process and the differences in creating art for a private studio practice versus public installation.
The event runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with the panel discussion taking place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in The Lincoln Center’s Columbine Room. The event is free and is open to any art-minded individuals or any community members in Fort Collins.
