The Department of Human Services’ Office of Aging will offer free caregiver classes throughout 2026, according to information published on the county’s website Jan. 26, 2026.

Two programs are being offered, which include a variety of classes designed to provide support and resources for caregivers while they care for others. Classes will be offered online and in-person at various times throughout the year.

The first program, Powerful Tools for Caregivers, has an approach specifically designed for family caregivers. This is a six-week course with evidence-based tools for the clients to learn. The tools will help with various mental wellbeing problems. The class focuses on stress management, communication skills, and strategies to help prevent caregiver burnout. Classes are offered on multiple weekdays, with additional Thursday options for grandfamilies. Sessions begin on the first of April.

A second program, Stress Busting, is a nine-week course open to all caregivers. The class focuses on understanding stress, using that knowledge to develop necessary stress management skills. Tuesday sessions will begin on March 31.

“A large number of caregivers do not self-identify as one,” said staff with the Family Caregiver Support Program Staff at the Larimer County Office on Aging. “We want Larimer County caregivers to recognize their strength, know they belong in this community, and reach out when they need support.”

The county has a list of classes and signup links available here
